Most modern software is sometimes slow, wastes resources and is complicated to handle.
Often this is a result of superficial development. Proper concepts are very rare. So most time is spent on useless work. At release-date, people realize suddenly that they need more time to develop and debug their software.
At that point it is only important to finish something that works, however and as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, this way of proceeding created huge and slow software that uses up shameless amounts of memory. Not to mention the security holes in the operating systems and browsers.
Holes known for years and still not fixed.
Today nothing works without a virus scanner and firewall. It reminds me of the middle ages. Let down the draw bridge, mount your horse, and ride out in to internet to defeat the plunderers, thieves and bandits.

With a bit more thorough planning and with the same amount of work software can be developed to be smaller, secure, faster and much more user friendly.
Memory and processor usage can be reduced down to 10 or 1% percent of current usage.

Also artificial intelligence is still in its childhood.
Unfortunately people tried to rebuild human intelligence before understanding much of it. While all along nobody noticed what was already possible with a microphone and webcam working as additional input-devices, even without simulated intelligence, modern software should free us from the stupid repetitious work.

So, on we go!
